In today’s world, many are seeking to hinge their salvation on one thing or the other. As long as it gives an assurance, though temporary – some are just okay with it. However, why would one choose to be saved for a short time, while there is a freely given salvation that lasts forever?
In Christ, we have Salvation like no other. In this world and the one to come. The only true salvation is found in the cross of Jesus Christ, who has once and for all put-away sin by His death on the cross for everyone who will accept His forgiveness bought by His blood.
Most Christians understand God’s forgiveness because of the cross but have often not been taught that it was via the work of the cross, Christ also conquered the Power of sin, thereby giving us victory over it. Hallelujah!

Click To TweetThis power was broken because Jesus Christ condemned sin in the flesh, Romans. 8:3 or the Adamic nature in us that we inherited from the first male human. It is very important to understand that sinful nature produces sins. Trying to get victory over habitual sins is like fruitlessly trimming the branches of a tree (sins) when the tree (sin nature) has to be cut down at the roots to kill it.
Not comprehending this produces a continuous cycle of sins, condemnation, repentance, a temporary victory, and the repeat of this agonizing experience. The sin nature cannot be improved on or “reformed.” Jesus said what is flesh is flesh and what is spirit. In other words, the flesh doesn’t change — you can’t reform it. That’s man’s answer — God’s answer is crucifixion!
This carnal self was also dealt with at the cross, Romans. 6:6. Christ gave us a new self when we were born again. If we allow it, the old self will still dominate our lives unless we have our minds renewed through the Word of God and then allow the Holy Spirit’s power to keep us in the love of God, Jude 22, daily.
The Bible is clear: the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, Romans. 8:5-7. It is our choice where we set our minds. Most fear we experience is due to the wrong focus.
You have a new life in Christ, the past is gone. Live again!
